Hadith of Muadh ibn Jabal (RA)

Hadith 961:138

Husayn ibn Ali narrated to us, from Za’idah, from Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Mu’adh, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed a prayer, and he perfected the standing, the humility, the bowing, and the prostration in it. He said: "It is a prayer of desire and fear. I asked Allah for three things in it; He granted me two and withheld one from me. I asked Him not to send an enemy upon my nation from other than themselves who would annihilate them, and He granted it to me. I asked Him not to send upon them a year of famine that would kill them with hunger, and He granted it to me. And I asked Him not to make their violence among themselves, but He rejected it for me."
