Hadith 961:14
'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, from Yunus, from Humayd ibn Hilal, from Hissan ibn al-Kahin, who said: And his father was a soothsayer (kahin) during the Pre-Islamic period (Jahiliyyah). He said: I entered the mosque during the governorship of Uthman ibn Affan, and there was an old man with a white head and beard, narrating from Mu'adh, from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he mentioned the hadith.
حدثنا عبد الأعلى، عن يونس، عن حميد بن هلال، عن هصان بن الكاهل، قال: وكان أبوه كاهنا في الجاهلية، قال: دخلت المسجد في إمارة عثمان بن عفان فإذا شيخ أبيض الرأس واللحية، يحدث عن معاذ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فذكر الحديث
