Hadith 961:21
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Mu'adh ibn Jabal, who said: I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he said: "Do you know what is the right of Allah upon the servants?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "That they worship Him and do not associate anything with Him." He said: "And do you know what is their right upon Him if they do that?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "That He does not punish them."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر، حدثنا شعبة، عن عبد الملك بن عمير، عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى، عن معاذ بن جبل، قال: كنت رديف رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: " أتدري ما حق الله على العباد؟ " قلت: الله ورسوله أعلم. قال: " أن يعبدوه ولا يشركوا به شيئا " قال: " وهل تدري ما حقهم عليه إذا فعلوا ذلك؟ " قال: قلت الله ورسوله أعلم. قال: " أن لا يعذبهم "
