Hadith 961:35
Al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, Al-Awza’i narrated to us, from Hassan ibn Atiyyah, Abd al-Rahman ibn Sabit narrated to me, from Amr ibn Maymun al-Awdi, who said: Mu’adh ibn Jabal came to us in Yemen as a messenger of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, at dawn, raising his voice with the takbir, having a husky voice. I cast my love upon him, and I did not part from him until I shoveled earth over him in the Levant, dead—may Allah have mercy on him. Then I looked for the most learned of people after him, so I came to Abdullah ibn Mas’ud. He said to me: "How will you be when rulers come upon you who pray the prayer outside of its appointed time?" I said: "What do you command me to do if I reach that?" He said: "Pray the prayer at its time, and make that [prayer] with them a voluntary prayer (subhah)."
حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم، حدثنا الأوزاعي، عن حسان بن عطية، حدثني عبد الرحمن بن سابط، عن عمرو بن ميمون الأودي، قال: قدم علينا معاذ بن جبل، اليمن رسول رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من السحر، رافعا صوته بالتكبير، أجش الصوت، فألقيت عليه محبتي فما فارقته حتى حثوت عليه التراب بالشام ميتا، رحمه الله، ثم نظرت إلى أفقه الناس بعده، فأتيت عبد الله بن مسعود، فقال لي: كيف أنت إذا أتت عليكم أمراء يصلون الصلاة لغير ميقاتها ؟ قال: فقلت: ما تأمرني إن أدركني ذلك؟ قال: " صل الصلاة لوقتها واجعل ذلك معهم سبحة "
