Hadith 961:40
Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Ayyash informed me, from Asim, from Abu Burdah, from Abu Malih al-Hudhali, from Mu’adh ibn Jabal and Abu Musa, they both said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would stop at a place, the one who would be next to him were the Emigrants (Muhajirun). They said: So we stopped at a place, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up while we were around him. They said: Then I and Mu’adh woke up during the night, and we looked. They said: So we went out seeking him, when we heard a rumbling like the rumbling of millstones, and he was approaching. When he approached, he looked and said: "What is the matter with you?" They said: We woke up and did not see you where you were, and we feared that something had happened to you, so we came seeking you. He said: "Someone came to me in my sleep and gave me the choice between half of my nation entering Paradise, or intercession, so I chose intercession for them." We said: We ask you by the right of Islam and by the right of companionship that you include us in Paradise. He said: Then the people gathered around him and said to him the same as what we had said, and the people became numerous. He said: "I make my intercession for whoever dies not associating anything with Allah."
حدثنا أسود بن عامر، أخبرني أبو بكر بن عياش، عن عاصم، عن أبي بردة، عن أبي مليح الهذلي، عن معاذ بن جبل، وعن أبي موسى، قالا: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا نزل منزلا كان الذي يليه المهاجرين ، قال: فنزلنا منزلا، فقام النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ونحن حوله، قال: فتعاررت من الليل أنا ومعاذ، فنظرنا قال: فخرجنا نطلبه، إذ سمعنا هزيزا كهزيز الأرحاء، إذ أقبل، فلما أقبل نظر، قال: " ما شأنكم؟ " قالوا: انتبهنا فلم نرك حيث كنت، خشينا أن يكون أصابك شيء، جئنا نطلبك. قال: " أتاني آت في منامي فخيرني بين أن يدخل الجنة نصف أمتي، أو شفاعة، فاخترت لهم الشفاعة " فقلنا: فإنا نسألك بحق الإسلام، وبحق الصحبة لما أدخلتنا الجنة . قال: فاجتمع عليه الناس، فقالوا له مثل مقالتنا، وكثر الناس، فقال: إني أجعل شفاعتي لمن مات لا يشرك بالله شيئا "
