Hadith 961:48
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Muslim narrated to us, al-Husayn narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Mu'adh, who said: During the time of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), when a man would miss a portion of his prayer, he would ask them, and they would gesture to him regarding what he had missed of the prayer. So he would begin and complete what he had missed, then he would enter with the people in their prayer. Mu'adh ibn Jabal came while the people were sitting in their prayer, so he sat. When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) finished, he stood up and completed what he had missed. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Do as Mu'adh has done."
حدثنا عبد الصمد، حدثنا عبد العزيز بن مسلم، حدثنا الحصين، عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى، عن معاذ قال: كان الناس على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا سبق الرجل ببعض صلاته سألهم فأومئوا إليه بالذي سبق به من الصلاة، فيبدأ فيقضي ما سبق، ثم يدخل مع القوم في صلاتهم، فجاء معاذ بن جبل والقوم قعود في صلاتهم فقعد، فلما فرغ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قام فقضى ما كان سبق به، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " اصنعوا كما صنع معاذ "
