Hadith 961:84
I read to Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi: Malik narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr al-Makki, from Abu al-Tufayl Amir ibn Wathilah, that Mu’adh informed him that they went out with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in the year of Tabuk. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to combine the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, and the Maghrib and Isha prayers. He said: He delayed the prayer, then he went out and prayed Dhuhr and Asr together. Then he went in, then he went out and prayed Maghrib and Isha together. Then he said: "You will come tomorrow, if Allah wills, to the spring of Tabuk, and you will not reach it until the day has advanced. So whoever reaches it, let him not touch anything of its water until I come." We arrived, and two men had reached it before us, and the spring was like a shoelace, trickling with a little water. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, asked them: "Did you touch anything of its water?" They said: "Yes." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, rebuked them and said to them what Allah willed for him to say. Then they scooped with their hands from the spring, little by little, until it gathered in a vessel. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, washed his face and hands in it, then he poured it back into it, and the spring flowed with abundant water, and the people drank. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "It is soon, O Mu’adh, if your life is prolonged, that you will see what is here filled with gardens."
قرأت على عبد الرحمن بن مهدي، حدثنا مالك، عن أبي الزبير المكي، عن أبي الطفيل عامر بن واثلة، أن معاذا أخبره، أنهم خرجوا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عام تبوك، فكان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يجمع بين الظهر والعصر والمغرب والعشاء. قال: وأخر الصلاة، ثم خرج فصلى الظهر والعصر جميعا، ثم دخل، ثم خرج فصلى المغرب والعشاء جميعا، ثم قال: " إنكم ستأتون غدا إن شاء الله عين تبوك، وإنكم لن تأتوها حتى يضحى النهار، فمن جاءها فلا يمس من مائها شيئا حتى آتي ". فجئنا وقد سبقنا إليها رجلان والعين مثل الشراك تبض بشيء من ماء، فسألهما رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " هل مسستما من مائها شيئا؟ " فقالا: نعم. فسبهما رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وقال لهما ما شاء الله أن يقول، ثم غرفوا بأيديهم من العين قليلا قليلا حتى اجتمع في شيء، ثم غسل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فيه وجهه ويديه، ثم أعاده فيها فجرت العين بماء كثير فاستقى الناس، ثم قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " يوشك يا معاذ إن طالت بك حياة أن ترى ما هاهنا قد ملأ جنانا "
