Hadith 961:89
Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, Isma'il ibn 'Ayyash informed us, from Safwan ibn 'Amr, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Jubayr ibn Nufayr al-Hadrami, from Mu'adh, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised me with ten words. He said: "Do not associate anything with Allah, even if you are killed and burned. Do not disobey your parents, even if they command you to depart from your family and your wealth. Do not intentionally abandon a prescribed prayer, for whoever intentionally abandons a prescribed prayer, the protection of Allah is withdrawn from him. Do not drink wine, for it is the head of every indecency. Beware of disobedience, for with disobedience descends the wrath of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic. Beware of fleeing from the battlefield, even if the people perish. If a plague strikes the people while you are among them, remain steadfast. Spend upon your family from your wealth, and do not lift your staff from them in discipline, and cause them to fear Allah."
حدثنا أبو اليمان، أخبرنا إسماعيل بن عياش، عن صفوان بن عمرو، عن عبد الرحمن بن جبير بن نفير الحضرمي، عن معاذ قال: أوصاني رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بعشر كلمات قال: " لا تشرك بالله شيئا وإن قتلت وحرقت، ولا تعقن والديك، وإن أمراك أن تخرج من أهلك ومالك، ولا تتركن صلاة مكتوبة متعمدا؛ فإن من ترك صلاة مكتوبة متعمدا فقد برئت منه ذمة الله، ولا تشربن خمرا؛ فإنه رأس كل فاحشة، وإياك والمعصية؛ فإن بالمعصية حل سخط الله عز وجل، وإياك والفرار من الزحف وإن هلك الناس، وإذا أصاب الناس موتان وأنت فيهم فاثبت، وأنفق على عيالك من طولك، ولا ترفع عنهم عصاك أدبا وأخفهم في الله "
