Musnad Ahmad 435:105

Ishaq ibn Isa narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Hamza narrated to us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid ibn Jabir, that Umayr ibn Hani narrated to him, he said: I heard Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan, upon this pulpit, saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "A group of my Ummah will continue to be established upon the command of Allah; those who forsake them or oppose them will not harm them, until the command of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, comes, and they are dominant over the people." Then Malik ibn Yukhāmir al-Saksaki stood up and said: "O Commander of the Faithful, I heard Muadh ibn Jabal saying: 'And they are the people of Ash-Sham.'" Muawiyah said, and he raised his voice: "This is Malik, claiming that he heard Muadh saying: 'And they are the people of Ash-Sham.'"
