Musnad Ahmad 435:16

'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Amr and 'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, they said: Hisham narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Sa'id, who said: Mu'awiyah said one day: "You have introduced an evil appearance. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade *al-zur*." And 'Abd al-Samad said: *al-zur*. He said: Then a man came with a stick that had a rag on its head, and he said: "Is this not *al-zur*?" Abu 'Amir said: Qatadah said: "It is what women use to increase their hair with rags."
