Musnad Ahmad 435:19

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, he said: Shu‘bah narrated to us, and Hajjaj said: Shu‘bah informed us, from Sa‘d ibn Ibrahim, from Ma‘bad al-Juhani, who said: Mu‘awiyah rarely narrated from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He said: Yet he would hardly ever leave out these words on a Friday, narrating them from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He would say: "Whoever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding of the religion. And this wealth is sweet and green; whoever takes it with its right, it will be blessed for him in it. And beware of excessive praising, for it is the slaughter."
