Hadith of Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan (RA)
Hadith 435:25
Bishr ibn Shu'ayb ibn Abi Hamzah narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me, from al-Zuhri, he said: Muhammad ibn Jubayr ibn Mut'im used to narrate that it reached Mu'awiyah—while he was with him among a delegation of Quraysh—that 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As was narrating that there would be a king from Qahtan. Mu'awiyah became angry, so he stood up and praised Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, as He is worthy of, then he said: "As for what follows: It has reached me that men among you are narrating narrations that are not in the Book of Allah, nor are they transmitted from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Those are your ignorant ones. So beware of the vain desires that lead their people astray. For I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: 'Indeed, this matter is in Quraysh; no one shall dispute them [for it] except that Allah will cast him upon his face, as long as they uphold the religion.'"
