Musnad Ahmad 435:37

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Abu Shaykh al-Huna'i, that Mu'awiyah said to a group of the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: "Do you know that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade riding upon leopard skins?" They said: "By Allah, yes." He said: "And do you know that he forbade the wearing of gold, except for what is cut?" They said: "By Allah, yes." He said: "And do you know that he forbade drinking from vessels of gold and silver?" They said: "By Allah, yes." He said: "And do you know that he forbade the Mut'ah—meaning the Mut'ah of Hajj?" They said: "By Allah, no."
