Musnad Ahmad 435:67

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Ibn 'Ajlan, who said: Muhammad ibn Ka'b—meaning al-Qurazi—narrated to me, saying: I heard Mu'awiyah delivering a sermon upon this pulpit, saying: "You should know that there is no preventer for what He has given, and no giver for what Allah has prevented. And the wealth of the wealthy will not benefit him against Him. Whoever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding of the religion." I heard these words from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, upon these pieces of wood.
