Musnad Ahmad 1094:7

Hajjaj narrated to us, Layth narrated to us, ‘Aqil narrated to me, from Ibn Shihab, from Abu Salamah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Awf, from Mu’awiyah ibn al-Hakam al-Sulami, that he said to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): "What do you think about things we used to do during the Jahiliyyah? We used to practice augury (tattayur)." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "That is something you find within yourselves, so let it not turn you away." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, we used to go to the soothsayers." He said: "Do not go to the soothsayers."
