Musnad Ahmad 1094:8

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from Mu'awiyah ibn al-Hakam, that the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "O Messenger of Allah, among us are men who practice *tatayyur* (taking omens)." He said: "That is something you find within yourselves, so let it not turn you away." They said: "And among us are men who go to soothsayers." He said: "Do not go to a soothsayer."
