Hadith 629:3
Mu'awiyah ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Abu Ishaq narrated to us, from Abu Malik al-Ashja'i, who said: I was sitting with Muhammad ibn Hatib, and he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I have indeed seen a land with date palms, so go forth." So Hatib and Ja'far went out by sea, toward the Negus. He said: And I was born on that ship.
حدثنا معاوية بن عمرو، حدثنا أبو إسحاق، عن أبي مالك الأشجعي قال: كنت جالسا مع محمد بن حاطب، فقال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إني قد رأيت أرضا ذات نخل، فاخرجوا " فخرج حاطب، وجعفر في البحر، قبل النجاشي، قال: فولدت أنا في تلك السفينة
