Musnad Ahmad 303:13

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, and Hajjaj narrated to us, he said: Shu‘bah narrated to me, from Qatadah, and Ibn Ja‘far said: I heard Qatadah, from Mutarrif ibn ‘Abdullah—Hajjaj said in his narration: I heard Mutarrif, from his father, who said: A man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "Are you the master (sayyid) of Quraysh?" The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "The Master (as-Sayyid) is Allah." He said: "Are you the most excellent of them in speech, and the greatest of them in stature?" The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Let one of you speak according to his speech, and let not the devil—or the devils—drag him."
