Musnad Ahmad 303:20

Hassan narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Mutarrif ibn al-Shikhkhir, from his father, and his father had come to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "Whoever fasts forever, he has neither fasted nor broken his fast."
