Hadith of Mutarrif ibn Abdullah from his father
Hadith 303:3
Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, and Hajjaj said: Shu‘bah narrated to me, he said: I heard Qatadah narrating from Mutarrif, from his father, who said: I arrived at the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he was saying: "{The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you} [At-Takathur: 1]." He says: The son of Adam says, "My wealth, my wealth." And you have nothing of your wealth except what you ate and consumed, or what you wore and wore out, or what you gave in charity and sent forth.
