Musnad Ahmad 303:8

Suwayd ibn ‘Amr and ‘Abd al-Samad narrated to us, they said: Mahdi narrated to us, Ghaylan narrated to us, from Mutarrif ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Shikhkhir, from his father, that he came as part of a delegation to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, among a group from Banu ‘Amir. He said: So we came to him and greeted him, and we said: "You are our guardian, and you are our master, and you are the most superior of us in status." Yunus said: "And you are the most superior of us in excellence, and you are the radiant basin." He said: So he said: "Say what you have to say, and do not let the devil entice you." He said: And sometimes he would say: "And do not let him lead you astray."
