Hadith 697:2
Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, Hisham ibn Urwah narrated to us, from his father, from Najiyah al-Khuza'i, who was the person in charge of the sacrificial animals (budn) of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), who said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, what should I do with the camels or sacrificial animals that are about to die?" He said: "Slaughter them, then dip their sandal (the mark of the sacrificial animal) in their blood, then leave them and the people, so let them eat them."
حدثنا أبو معاوية، حدثنا هشام بن عروة، عن أبيه، عن ناجية الخزاعي، وكان صاحب بدن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، كيف أصنع بما عطب من الإبل أو البدن؟ قال: " انحرها، ثم ألق نعلها في دمها، ثم خل عنها وعن الناس، فليأكلوها "
