Hadith of Nu'man ibn Muqarrin (RA)
Hadith 1091:3
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Harb—meaning Ibn Shaddad—narrated to us, Husayn narrated to us, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from al-Nu'man ibn Muqarrin, who said: We arrived to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, among four hundred of [the tribe of] Muzaynah. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, commanded us with a command. Some of the people said: "O Messenger of Allah, we have no food to take as provisions." The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to 'Umar: "Provide them with provisions." He said: "I have nothing except a surplus of dates, and I do not see that it will suffice them at all." He said: "Go and provide them with provisions." So he went with us to an upper room of his, and behold, there were dates in it like a gray-colored young camel. He said: "Take." So the people took their needs. He said: And I was among the last of the people. He said: I turned around, and I did not miss the place of a single date, even though four hundred men had carried [provisions] from it.
