Hadith 196:0
Narrated to us by Yahya ibn Sa’id, from Hisham ibn Hassan, who said: Narrated to us Muhammad ibn Sirin, from Namir al-Khuza’i, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "The sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah, and they do not eclipse for the death of anyone, nor for their birth. However, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, sends them to frighten His servants, and He likes for His servants to remember Him, to supplicate to Him, and to seek His forgiveness." And he said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when the sun eclipsed, and he stood up and prayed as long as he could stand, then he bowed as long as he could bow, then he stood up as long as he could stand, then he bowed as long as he could bow, then he prostrated as long as he could prostrate." He said: "And he did not finish until the sun had cleared."
