Musnad Ahmad 292:1

Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Jurayj informed us, he said: I was informed that Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, and from Sulayman ibn Musa, from so-and-so, and from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir—and Abu al-Zubayr did not reach this entire story—that Abu Qatadah came to his family and found a bowl of tharid made from the meat of the sacrifice (al-udhiyah). He refused to eat it, so he went to Qatadah ibn al-Nu’man and informed him. [He said] that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, stood among the people and said: "I had commanded you not to eat the meat of the sacrifices beyond three days, so that it might suffice you. But now, I permit it for you, so eat from it as you wish." He said: "And do not sell the meat of the sacrificial animals (hady) and the sacrifices (udhiyah). Eat, give in charity, and make use of their hides. And if you feed anyone from their meat, then eat [from it] if you wish."
