Hadith 849:2
Muhammad ibn Ja’far narrated to us, Shu’bah narrated to us, he said: I heard Qatadah narrating from Mutarrif ibn al-Shikhkhir, and Hajjaj, he said: Shu’bah narrated to me, Hajjaj said in his hadith: I heard Mutarrif ibn al-Shikhkhir narrating from Hakim ibn Qays ibn ‘Asim, from his father, that he bequeathed to his children at the time of his death. He said: "Fear Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, and make your eldest your leader, for when a people make their eldest their leader, they succeed their father." Then he mentioned the hadith. "And when I die, do not wail over me, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was not wailed over."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر، حدثنا شعبة، قال: سمعت قتادة، يحدث عن مطرف بن الشخير، وحجاج، قال: حدثني شعبة، قال حجاج في حديثه: سمعت مطرف بن الشخير، يحدث عن حكيم بن قيس بن عاصم، عن أبيه، أنه أوصى ولده عند موته، قال: " اتقوا الله عز وجل، وسودوا أكبركم، فإن القوم إذا سودوا أكبرهم، خلفوا أباهم، فذكر الحديث، وإذا مت فلا تنوحوا علي، فإن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لم ينح عليه "
