Hadith 849:3
Hushaym narrated to us, he said: Al-Mughirah informed [us] from his father, from Shu'bah ibn al-Taw'am, from Qays ibn 'Asim, that he asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, about the alliance (hilf). He said: "Whatever alliance existed in the Pre-Islamic period (Jahiliyyah), then hold fast to it, and there is no [new] alliance in Islam."
حدثنا هشيم، قال مغيرة: أخبر عن أبيه، عن شعبة بن التوأم، عن قيس بن عاصم، أنه سأل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الحلف، فقال: " ما كان من حلف في الجاهلية فتمسكوا به، ولا حلف في الإسلام ".
