Musnad Ahmad 277:1

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, he said: Ma'mar informed us, from 'Uthman ibn Zufar, from some of the sons of Rafi' ibn Mukayth, from Rafi' ibn Mukayth—and he was among those who witnessed al-Hudaybiyyah—that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Good character is growth, and bad character is misfortune. Righteousness is an increase in lifespan, and charity prevents an evil death."
