Bahz, Abu al-Nadr, and 'Affan narrated to us, they said: Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, from Humayd, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Samit, from Abu Dharr, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, after me, there will be people from my nation who recite the Qur'an, but it will not pass beyond their throats. They will exit the religion just as an arrow exits the target, then they will not return to it. They are the worst of creation and the created." Ibn al-Samit said: So I met Rafi'—Bahz said: the brother of al-Hakam ibn 'Amr—and I narrated this hadith to him. He said: "I also heard this from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)."
