Hadith 481:1
Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, he said: Ayyub informed us, from Nafi', that it reached Ibn 'Umar that Rafi' was narrating regarding that a prohibition from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. So he came to him, and I was with him, and he asked him. He said: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prohibited the renting of farms." So Ibn 'Umar abandoned them, and he would not rent them out. When he was asked, he would say: "Ibn Khadij claims that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prohibited the renting of farms."
حدثنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم، قال: أخبرنا أيوب، عن نافع، أن ابن عمر بلغه أن رافعا، يحدث في ذاك بنهي عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فأتاه وأنا معه، فسأله، فقال: " نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن كراء المزارع "، فتركها ابن عمر، فكان لا يكريها، فكان إذا سئل يقول: زعم ابن خديج، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " نهى عن كراء المزارع "
