Hadith 481:19
Abu Sa’id, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, saying: ‘Abdullah ibn Ja’far narrated to us, saying: ‘Uthman ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from Rafi’ ibn Khadij: "That the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saw the red color [i.e., red garments] had appeared, so he disliked it." "When Rafi’ ibn Khadij died, they placed a red velvet cloth over his bier, and the people were amazed at that."
حدثنا أبو سعيد، مولى بني هاشم، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن جعفر، قال: حدثنا عثمان بن محمد، عن رافع بن خديج: " أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم رأى الحمرة قد ظهرت فكرهها " " فلما مات رافع بن خديج، جعلوا على سريره قطيفة حمراء، فعجب الناس من ذلك "
