Hadith 481:23
Yunus narrated to us, he said: Layth narrated to us, from Rabi'ah ibn Abi 'Abd al-Rahman, from Hanzalah ibn Qays, from Rafi' ibn Khadij, that he said: My uncle narrated to me that they "used to lease land during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for what grew on the banks of the streams, and a portion of the crop which the owner of the crop would exclude. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade that." I said to Rafi': "How is leasing it for dinars and dirhams?" Rafi' said: "There is no harm in it for dinars and dirhams."
حدثنا يونس، قال: حدثنا ليث، عن ربيعة بن أبي عبد الرحمن، عن حنظلة بن قيس، عن رافع بن خديج، أنه قال: حدثني عمي، أنهم " كانوا يكرون الأرض على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بما ينبت على الأربعاء وشيء من الزرع يستثنيه صاحب الزرع فنهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن ذلك " فقلت لرافع: كيف كراؤها بالدينار والدرهم؟ فقال رافع: " ليس بها بأس بالدينار والدرهم "
