Hadith 179:18
Waki’ narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Sa’id, from ‘Abayah ibn Rifa’ah, from his grandfather Rafi’ ibn Khadij, who said: "Gabriel—or an angel—came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: 'What do you consider those among you who witnessed Badr?' They said: 'Our best.' He said: 'Likewise, they are our best among the angels.'"
حدثنا وكيع، حدثنا سفيان، عن يحيى بن سعيد، عن عباية بن رفاعة، عن جده رافع بن خديج، قال: " إن جبريل - أو ملكا - جاء إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: ما تعدون من شهد بدرا فيكم؟ قالوا : خيارنا، قال: كذلك هم عندنا خيارنا من الملائكة " . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
