Hadith 255:1
Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, he said: Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Muslim ibn Yasar, from Abu al-Ash'ath al-San'ani, from Rashid ibn Hubaysh, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered upon 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit to visit him during his illness. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do you know who the martyr from my nation is?" The people remained silent. 'Ubadah said: "Support me," so they supported him. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, the patient one who seeks reward." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, the martyrs of my nation are few: Being killed in the way of Allah the Almighty and Majestic is martyrdom, the plague is martyrdom, drowning is martyrdom, and [dying from] a stomach ailment is martyrdom, and the woman who dies in childbirth, her child will drag her by his umbilical cord to Paradise." He said: And Abu al-'Awwam added in it: "The custodian of the Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem), burning, and the flood."
حدثنا محمد بن بكر، قال: حدثنا سعيد بن أبي عروبة، عن قتادة، عن مسلم بن يسار، عن أبي الأشعث الصنعاني، عن راشد بن حبيش، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم دخل على عبادة بن الصامت يعوده في مرضه، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " أتعلمون من الشهيد من أمتي؟ " فأرم القوم، فقال عبادة: ساندوني، فأسندوه، فقال: يا رسول الله، الصابر المحتسب، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إن شهداء أمتي إذا لقليل: القتل في سبيل الله عز وجل شهادة، والطاعون شهادة، والغرق شهادة، والبطن شهادة، والنفساء يجرها ولدها بسرره إلى الجنة " قال: وزاد فيها أبو العوام: " سادن بيت المقدس والحرق، والسيل "،
