Musnad Ahmad 238:1

Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, he said: Abu Aqil—meaning al-Thaqafi, Abdullah ibn Aqil—narrated to us, Musa ibn al-Musayyab narrated to us, Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd informed me, from Sabra ibn Abi Fakih, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "Indeed, Satan sat for the son of Adam on his paths. He sat for him on the path of Islam, and said to him: 'Will you submit and abandon your religion, and the religion of your fathers, and the fathers of your father?'" He said: "So he disobeyed him and submitted." "Then he sat for him on the path of migration, and said: 'Will you migrate and abandon your land and your sky? For the likeness of the emigrant is like a horse on a tether.'" He said: "So he disobeyed him and migrated." "Then he sat for him on the path of Jihad, and said: 'It is the exertion of the soul and the wealth. So you fight and are killed, then the woman is married and the wealth is divided.'" He said: "So he disobeyed him and performed Jihad." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Whoever among them does that and dies, it is a right upon Allah to admit him into Paradise. Or if he is killed, it is a right upon Allah to admit him into Paradise. Or if he drowns, it is a right upon Allah to admit him into Paradise. Or if his mount breaks his neck, it is a right upon Allah to admit him into Paradise."
