Musnad Ahmad 37:11

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, he said: I heard ‘Abd Rabbih ibn Sa‘id narrating from ‘Ubayd ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz, from al-Rabi‘ ibn Sabrah, from his father, who is called al-Sabri: From the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, "that he commanded them to perform mut‘ah (temporary marriage)." He said: So I and another man proposed to a woman. He said: "Then I met the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, after three days, and behold, he was prohibiting it with the strictest prohibition, and he was saying regarding it the sternest of words, and he was forbidding it with the strictest of prohibitions."
