Hadith 1106:2
'Affan narrated to us, Sulayman ibn Kathir Abu Dawud narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Abd Allah, from Ibn 'Abbas, from Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah, that he came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "My mother has died and she has a vow upon her; will it suffice for her if I free a slave on her behalf?" He said: "Free a slave on behalf of your mother."
حدثنا عفان، حدثنا سليمان بن كثير أبو داود، عن الزهري، عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله، عن ابن عباس، عن سعد بن عبادة، أنه أتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: إن أمي ماتت وعليها نذر أفيجزئ عنها أن أعتق عنها؟ قال: " أعتق عن أمك "
