Hadith of Safwan ibn al-Mu'attal al-Sulami (RA)
Hadith 1009:2
Abdullah narrated to us, Abu Hafs ‘Amr ibn ‘Ali ibn Bahr ibn Kaniz al-Saqqa’ narrated to us, Abu Qutaybah narrated to us, ‘Umar ibn Nabhan narrated to us, Salam Abu ‘Isa narrated to us, Safwan ibn al-Mu‘attal narrated to us, he said: We went out as pilgrims. When we were at al-‘Arj, we suddenly saw a snake writhing, and it did not take long before it died. A man took out a piece of cloth for it from his saddlebag, wrapped it in it, buried it, and dug a grave for it in the earth. When we came to Makkah, while we were in the Sacred Mosque, a person stood before us and said: "Which of you is the companion of ‘Amr ibn Jabir?" We said: "We do not know him." He said: "Which of you is the companion of the jinn?" They said: "This one." He said: "As for him, may Allah reward you with good. As for him, he was the last of the nine to die, those who came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, listening to the Quran."
