Hadith 248:8
Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Abu Uways narrated to us, al-Zuhri narrated to us, from Abu Umamah ibn Sahl ibn Hunayf, that his father narrated to him: That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out, and they traveled with him toward Makkah, until when they were at Shi'b al-Khazzar in al-Juhfah, Sahl ibn Hunayf performed ghusl (ritual bath), and he was a white man, with a beautiful body and skin. Amir ibn Rabi'ah, brother of Banu Adi ibn Ka'b, looked at him while he was performing ghusl and said: "I have not seen the like of today, nor the skin of a secluded virgin." Sahl was then struck down. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was approached and it was said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, can you help Sahl? By Allah, he does not raise his head, and he is not regaining consciousness." He said: "Do you accuse anyone regarding him?" They said: "Amir ibn Rabi'ah looked at him." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called Amir and was angry with him, and said: "Why would one of you kill his brother? Why, when you see what amazes you, do you not invoke blessings (say 'Barakallahu feek')?" Then he said to him: "Perform ghusl for him." So he washed his face, his hands, his elbows, his knees, the extremities of his feet, and the inside of his lower garment in a vessel. Then that water was poured over him; a man poured it over his head and his back from behind him, tipping the vessel behind him. He did that to him, and Sahl went off with the people, having no ailment.
حدثنا حسين بن محمد، قال: حدثنا أبو أويس، حدثنا الزهري، عن أبي أمامة بن سهل بن حنيف، أن أباه حدثه: أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم خرج، وساروا معه نحو مكة، حتى إذا كانوا بشعب الخزار من الجحفة، اغتسل سهل بن حنيف وكان رجلا أبيض، حسن الجسم، والجلد، فنظر إليه عامر بن ربيعة أخو بني عدي بن كعب وهو يغتسل، فقال: ما رأيت كاليوم، ولا جلد مخبأة فلبط بسهل، فأتي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقيل له: يا رسول الله، هل لك في سهل؟ والله ما يرفع رأسه، وما يفيق، قال: " هل تتهمون فيه من أحد؟ " قالوا: نظر إليه عامر بن ربيعة فدعا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عامرا، فتغيظ عليه وقال: " علام يقتل أحدكم أخاه؟ هلا إذا رأيت ما يعجبك بركت؟ " ثم قال له: " اغتسل له " فغسل وجهه، ويديه، ومرفقيه، وركبتيه، وأطراف رجليه، وداخلة إزاره في قدح، ثم صب ذلك الماء عليه، يصبه رجل على رأسه، وظهره من خلفه، يكفئ القدح وراءه، ففعل به ذلك، فراح سهل مع الناس ليس به بأس . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
