Hadith of Sahlah bint Suhayl ibn Amr, the wife of Abu Hudhayfah (RA)
حديث سهلة بنت سهيل بن عمرو امرأة أبي حذيفة (1) رضي الله عنهم
Hadith 1169:0
Sahlah bint Suhayl ibn ‘Amr, the wife of Abu Hudhayfah, came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, we used to consider Salim a son, and he would enter upon me while I was unveiled, and he would enter upon me in my house, and we saw no harm in that. Then Allah revealed what He revealed regarding them. So, I see that Abu Hudhayfah finds it difficult in his heart regarding that." The Prophet (ﷺ) said to her: "Nurse him, and you will become unlawful for him (as a mother), and that which is in his heart will depart." So she went and did that, then she returned to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: "I have nursed him, and that which was in the heart of Abu Hudhayfah has departed."
