Musnad Ahmad 333:11

Bahz narrated to us, Ikrimah ibn Ammar narrated to us, Iyas ibn Salamah narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me, he said: We went out with Abu Bakr ibn Abi Quhafah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had appointed him over us. He said: We raided [the tribe of] Fazarah. When we drew near to the water, Abu Bakr commanded us, so we halted. He said: When we had prayed the morning prayer, Abu Bakr commanded us, so we launched the raid, and we killed those whom we killed at the water. Salamah said: Then I looked at a group of people, among whom were children and women, heading toward the mountain. I ran in pursuit of them, and I feared that they would reach the mountain before me, so I shot an arrow, and it fell between them and the mountain. He said: So I brought them, driving them toward Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), until I came to him at the water. Among them was a woman from Fazarah, wearing a garment of leather, and with her was a daughter of hers who was among the most beautiful of the Arabs. He said: Abu Bakr gave me her daughter as a gift. He said: I did not uncover a garment for her until I arrived in Medina. Then I spent the night, and I did not uncover a garment for her. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) met me in the market and said to me: "O Salamah, give me the woman." He said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, she has pleased me, and I have not uncovered a garment for her. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained silent and left me. When the next day came, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) met me in the market and said: "O Salamah, give me the woman, may your father be sacrificed for you." He said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, she has pleased me, and I have not uncovered a garment for her, but she is yours, O Messenger of Allah. He said: So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent her to the people of Mecca, and in their hands were captives from the Muslims, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ransomed them with that woman.
