Musnad Ahmad 333:19

Hammad ibn Mas'adah narrated to us, from Yazid—meaning ibn Abi 'Ubayd—from Salamah, who said: I was sitting with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when a funeral was brought. He said: "Did he leave behind any debt?" They said: "No." He said: "Did he leave behind anything?" They said: "No." So he prayed over him. Then another was brought, and he said: "Did he leave behind any debt?" They said: "No." He said: "Did he leave behind anything?" They said: "Yes, three dinars." He said—and he gestured with his fingers—"Three brandings." Then a third was brought, and he said: "Did he leave behind any debt?" They said: "Yes." He said: "Did he leave behind anything?" They said: "No." He said: "Pray over your companion." A man from the Ansar said: "His debt is upon me, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "So he prayed over him."
