Musnad Ahmad 333:31

Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, he said: ‘Ikrimah narrated to us, he said: Iyas ibn Salamah ibn al-Akwa‘ narrated to me, he said: My father narrated to me, he said: I went on a military expedition with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, against Hawazin. He said: While we were eating our midday meal, and most of us were on foot and among us were the weak, a man came on a red camel. He pulled a leather strap from its saddlebag and hobbled his camel with it, then he came to eat with the people. When he saw their weakness and the scarcity of their mounts, he went out to his camel, untied it, made it kneel, and sat upon it. He then rode off at a gallop. A man from Aslam, one of the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, followed him on a grey she-camel, which was the best mount among the people, and pursued him. He said: I went out running and caught up with him. The head of the she-camel was at the flank of the camel, and I was at the flank of the she-camel. Then I moved forward until I was at the flank of the camel, then I moved forward until I took hold of the camel’s nose-rein and made it kneel. When it placed its knee on the ground, I drew my sword and struck his head, and it fell off. I brought his mount and what was upon it, leading it. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, met me coming towards me and said: "Who killed the man?" They said: "Ibn al-Akwa‘." He said: "He shall have all of his spoils."
