Musnad Ahmad 333:35

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Yazid, who said: Salamah ibn al-Akwa' narrated to us, saying: I was with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when a funeral was brought. They said: "O Prophet of Allah, pray over it." He said: "Did he leave anything behind?" They said: "No." He said: "Did he leave any debt upon him?" They said: "No." So he prayed over him. Then another funeral was brought after that, and he said: "Did he leave any debt upon him?" They said: "No." He said: "Did he leave anything behind?" They said: "Three dinars." He said: "Three brandings." Then a third one was brought, and he said: "Did he leave any debt upon him?" They said: "Yes." He said: "Did he leave anything behind?" They said: "No." He said: "Pray over your companion." A man from the Ansar, who was called Abu Qatadah, said: "O Messenger of Allah, his debt is upon me." So he prayed over him.
