Narrated by Salamah ibn al-Muhaqqaq: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever has an animal and intends to sacrifice it, then once the crescent of Dhu al-Hijjah appears, he should not take anything from his hair or his nails until he sacrifices."
