Hadith of Salamah ibn al-Muhabbiq (RA)
Hadith 795:13
'Abd al-Samad ibn 'Abd al-Warith narrated to us, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Habib al-'Awadhi narrated to us, my father narrated to me, he said: We went on a military expedition with Sinan ibn Salamah to Makran. Sinan ibn Salamah said: My father, Salamah ibn al-Muhabbaq, narrated to me that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: "Whoever is reached by Ramadan and possesses a mount that provides him with satiety, let him fast Ramadan wherever it reaches him." And Sinan said: I was born on the day of Hunayn, and my father was given the glad tidings of me. They said to him: "A boy has been born to you." He said: "An arrow that I shoot on behalf of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is more beloved to me than what you have given me glad tidings of," and he named me Sinan.
