Musnad Ahmad 439:2

Al-Hakam ibn Nafi’ narrated to us, he said: Isma’il ibn ‘Ayyash narrated to us, from Ibrahim ibn Sulayman, from al-Walid ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Jurashi, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, that Salamah ibn Nufayl informed them that he came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "I have let the horses graze, laid down the weapons, and war has laid down its burdens. I said: There is no fighting." The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to him: "Now the fighting has come. A group of my Ummah will continue to be dominant over the people. Allah will cause the hearts of some people to deviate, so they will fight them, and Allah will provide for them from them, until the command of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, comes while they are in that state. Verily, the heartland of the believers is Ash-Sham, and goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection."
