Narrated Salama bin Sakhr al-Ansari: I was a man who was very sexually active. When the month of Ramadan began, I feared that I would have intercourse during the day, so I made my wife unlawful to me (zihar) until the end of Ramadan. However, one night, my wife was exposed to me, and I slipped and had intercourse with her. I went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and informed him of the matter. He said: "Free a slave." I said: "I do not have one except my riding camel and my servant." He said: "Then fast for two consecutive months." I said: "I am only in this state because of fasting." He said: "Then feed sixty poor people." I said: "By the One who sent you with the truth, we have not eaten since yesterday." He said: "Go to the keeper of the charity of the Banu Zurayq, and let him give it to you, then feed sixty poor people with it, and eat you and your family from the rest."
