Hadith 1216:1
Ya'qub narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, he said: Sulayt ibn Ayyub ibn al-Hakam ibn Sulaym narrated to me, from his mother, from Salma bint Qays—and she was one of the maternal aunts of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and she had prayed with him toward the two qiblahs, and she was one of the women of Banu 'Adi ibn al-Najjar—she said: I came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and I pledged allegiance to him among a group of women from the Ansar. When he stipulated upon us that we should not associate anything with Allah, nor steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill our children, nor bring forth a slander that we fabricate between our hands and our feet, nor disobey him in what is good, she said: He said: "And do not deceive your husbands." She said: So we pledged allegiance to him, then we departed. I said to a woman among them: "Go back and ask the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, what is the deception of our husbands?" She said: So she asked him, and he said: "That she takes his wealth and favors someone else with it."
