Hadith 1089:12
Yazid narrated to us, he said: A man in the gathering of ‘Amr ibn ‘Ubayd informed us that he heard Abu ‘Uthman narrating this from Salman al-Farisi, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, the like of it. Yazid said: They named him for me. They said: He is Ja‘far ibn Maymun. ‘Abdullah said: My father said: "Meaning Ja‘far, the owner of the Anmat (rugs)."
حدثنا يزيد، أخبرنا رجل في مجلس عمرو بن عبيد، أنه سمع أبا عثمان، يحدث بهذا عن سلمان الفارسي، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بمثله قال: يزيد سموه لي قالوا: هو جعفر بن ميمون قال عبد الله: قال أبي: " يعني جعفر صاحب الأنماط "
